The National Upper Cervical Chiropractic Association (NUCCA) is a gentle, non-invasive technique developed more than fifty years ago to create a holistic approach to healing that can help restore body balance and optimal health.
NUCCA care focuses on the relationship between the upper cervical spine (neck) and its influence on the central nervous system and brain stem function. It is this relationship that affects every aspect of human function, from the feeling sensations in your fingers to regulating hormones, controlling movement, and providing the ability to hear, see, think, and breathe
When the upper cervical spine (head and neck) is injured, the NUCCA process reduces interference to the nervous system using a precise, gentle, non-invasive spinal adjusting technique.
By using precise and objective x-rays of the head and neck and mathematical measurement analysis, NUCCA doctors can establish a misalignment pattern unique to every person. Once the doctor understands the misalignment, there is no need for further x-rays because we can determine alignment based on the patient’s posture.
NUCCA is not a treatment for a specific condition. Instead, we are maximizing the body’s ability to self-regulate and heal.
We recognize the ability to heal is inside of you. We help re-establish your body’s innate healing power by restoring proper alignment.
When the upper neck is correctly aligned, the brain and body can optimally communicate, and as a result, the body can heal. Without stress on the nervous system, the body’s ability to heal and repair is maximized.
At our office, we take care of patients who have suffered from injuries that could have happened anywhere from childhood to the present, and the results can be expressed as several conditions, including pain.
Before beginning care and at each regular visit, we measure, evaluate, and record your posture and alignment. These are signs that you have a misalignment.
Visualize the misalignment
Following postural assessment, we take precision x-rays to confirm the misalignment, rule out other more serious conditions, and formulate a plan tailored to your body.
Correct the misalignment
Using the NUCCA treatment, a gentle, constant pressure, we can reposition your spine into a more balanced position.
Confirm the correction
Post adjustment x-rays provide information about how your body responded to the adjustment and whether any fine-tuning is needed.
Maintain the correction
This may sound surprising, but the goal of care is not to need an adjustment. When your body maintains the correct position, it works and heals efficiently and effectively.
