Vertigo is a symptom of vestibular conditions that cause a person to feel as if he or the things around him are moving or spinning. It is usually helped by prescription or over-the-counter medication that focuses on alleviating the individual symptoms. However, unless the underlying cause of vertigo is addressed, it will likely return.
Jordan Sparks, a former American Idol star, has had experience with vertigo. She tweeted that she was unable to sleep for 4 days in a row due to this condition. She also said she felt the sensation whether she was laying down or sitting up. Oddly enough, she released a song called Vertigo back in 2009. It was about the way that love could make one feel dizzy. In this case, however, love had nothing to do with it. Rather, it was due to an inner ear infection that resulted in vertigo.

It has been seen that vertigo often occurs after one has had an injury or trauma to the head or neck. This has to do with the bones of the upper neck becoming misaligned and hindering the vestibular system from working properly. Communication to and from the brain and body can be distorted. A misalignment in this area of the body compromises balance and creates a number of other health-related problems, including the spinning sensation of vertigo.
At The Balanced Atlas, we use modern diagnostic technology to locate the slightest upper cervical misalignments. They can be as small as ¼ of a millimeter and still create major problems. Once we find the misalignment, we can then work to correct it using a low force correction of the neck. We never have to pop or crack the neck or spine to realign the bones. Rather, the method used – NUCCA – allows the bones to move back into place naturally resulting in the body being able to repair any damage.
